NonaLee Dance Theatre

NonaLee Dance Theatre was founded in May 2011 by artistic director, Angel Chinn. The company was founded out of a need for expression without permission or boundaries. NLDT strives to create socially conscious work that challenges the audience’s perception of what is, and what could be. Examining modern day topics and our shared community experiences, NLDT fuses ballet, Afro-contemporary, and urban groove to explore curiosities and pose taboo questions about the society that we share. Through a storytelling – movement experience NonaLee Dance Theatre aims to stimulate the imagination, and create more conscious communities. NLDT has presented work in various spaces throughout New York and the DC metropolitan areas including Joe’s Movement Emporium, Atlas Performing Arts Center, Green Space, The Secret Theatre, Five Myles Art Gallery, Irondale, and Brooklyn Arts Exchange.
